About us

Debby Spinner founded hitechgiving July, 2000 in order to help bridge the gaps in Israeli society. Debby is uniquely suited for this task, having worked both in the hitech fields and in resource development. (Associate Editor and Designer for Technion, Director of a hi-tech communications firm, Head of Resource Development for a Government Hospital).

Hitechgiving includes volunteers, employees and freelancers for information gathering, writing, designing and grass roots work.

As Debby herself puts it: "Working for a government hospital highlighted the extreme needs of sections of the population, while working in hi-tech is a completely different world. I saw cases where premature babies had to helicoptered away because of the acute lack of medical equipment. I know from first-hand experience that people are willing to help but they don't have the time. The purpose of hi-tech giving is to bridge that gap.

We have done all the research and present a basket of worthy non-profit organizations to the community. Within 15 minutes I can complete a presentation. Our written material is concise and to the point. The whole process is very efficient and saves time. In addition, the entire donation goes to the earmarked organization(s) and specific projects.

We don't take percentages off the top. Instead we are built into the non-profits costs. I am very encouraged by the generous responses we have received so far and am confident that together we can make a difference and impact positive change in Israeli society."
